Planting Deadlines
Earliest Planting Date – The earliest date the insured may plant an insured agricultural commodity and qualify for a replanting payment if such payments are authorized. If a commodity is planted prior to this date, the crop is not eligible for a replanting payment, but is still insurable.

Final Planting Date – The date for the insured crop by which the crop must initially be planted in order to be insured for the full production guarantee or amount of insurance per acre. Crops planted after the final plant date are considered in the “late planting period.”

Late Planting Period – The period that begins the day after the final planting date for the insured crop. For acreage planted during the late planting period, coverage is reduced.

Other Deadlines
September 30th is the deadline to make any changes to a wheat policy. This includes coverage levels and types, unit structure, and endorsements. We’d be happy to discuss your options or run quotes!
March 15th is the last day to update policies for the spring-planted crops. Let us know if you have made any changes to your operation, or would like to discuss your current coverage. We are available by phone, email, walk-in, or appointment!
July 15th is the deadline to report your spring-planted crops–corn, milo, soybeans, sunflowers, etc. Give our office a call if you need help completing your paperwork.
December 15th is the last day to report fall-planted crops for most counties in our region. Let us know if you need any assistance getting this done!

Important Deadlines Definitions
Sales closing date: last day to apply for coverage.
Final planting date: last day to plant without a dock in coverage.
Acreage reporting date: last day to report the acreage planted. If not reported, insurance will not be in effect.
Date to file notice of crop damage: for a planted crop, notice must be provided within 72 hours of discovery of damage or loss of production (but not later than 15 days after the end of the insurance period). If there is no damage or loss of production and a revenue plan of insurance is in effect, notice must be given no later than 45 days after the latest date the harvest price is released. For crops that are prevented from being planted, notice must be provided within 72 hours after the final planting date or the time the producer determines it will not be possible to plant during any applicable late planting period.
End of insurance period: latest date of insurance coverage.
Payment due date: last day to pay the premium without being charged interest.
Cancellation date: last day to request cancellation of policy for the next year.
Production reporting date: last day to report production for APH, ARH, Revenue Protection, and Revenue Protection with harvest price exclusion option.
Debt termination date: date the approved insurance provider will terminate a policy for nonpayment.
